Strategically Connected to Workforce
The Cedar Valley’s greatest asset is the knowledge, skills and work ethic of the workforce.
The region boasts a potential labor force of nearly 320,000 people, with a majority employed in industries of education, manufacturing, health care and wholesale and retail trade.
The current Cedar Valley Region of Iowa Laborshed Study is now available from the Iowa Department of Workforce Development. This report is conducted every few years and addresses underemployment, availability and willingness of current and prospective employees to change employment, occupational experience and wages. Industry specific workforce data is available in the Downloads section of our Media Center.
Right to Work State
Iowa is a right-to-work state. Employees cannot be forced to join a union or financially support a union as a condition of employment.
